The IDI is an instrument of the Regional Ministry of Energy Transition and Productive Sectors of the Government of the Balearic Islands. The IDI as a Regional Development Agency (ADR) aims to promote the development of economic and business activity in the Balearic Islands, with criteria of competitiveness, sustainability, territorial and sectoral rebalancing, making available to entrepreneurs and companies, especially micro, small and medium-sized enterprises, the information and means necessary for their implementation and to improve their management and increase their competitiveness, either directly or through coordination and collaboration with other public and private entities that pursue similar objectives.
It has several support programmes for local businesses, based on the lines of internationalisation, aid and subsidies and business creation. They have more than 40 professionals in their network of employees and collaborators and almost 3,500 clients. One of its most important lines of action recently has been digitalisation, where it supports companies with training, mentoring and advice on how to manage, decide and implement the digitalisation of their company or business.
